This was a hard one as there are many songs I listen to when I am sad and which ones depend upon the reason for the sadness. The song I have chosen to go with though is one that is reminiscent of Christmas since it accompanied a Christmas Carol the Movie. The song is called 'What If' and is performed by the actress Kate Winslet. Kate is not a singer and she expressed duly when the song was released that she did not want to be a singer she was happy being an actress and for that I think this song is so special because it is being performed by someone who is singing it for the music and not as a career path.
The song has once again poignant lyrics and in my mind they take me back to a time in my life when I came to a crossroads and I turned left, and often wonder what would have happened if I had turned right? Just as the song lyrics surround a person as their subject so too do my memories but I am not giving a lot more away here as this is something very personal to me. Here is the song:
