Tim Burton is a wonderfully dark man who has a manner of crafting Noir colourless subject matters into vibrant mind catching displays while ever retaining that black and white polarity. "All the colours of the rainbow in Black And White" is the best description I can use for his work in a nutshell. Of the Movies he has worked on there are many worth mentioning but there is one in particular that I love not so much for the subject manner but for the story and the way it is told in the same mind catching fashion.
The Movie is: 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street' - I find this legend and the enactment of the story captivating in a manner of morbid fascination. From my time living in London I did feel the history and the attitude of the city and not for one second did the thought that this legend was a lie cross my mind. I can well and truly believe it happened and whats more it is this opinion that makes this movie so stomach churningly brilliant. Johnny Depp has a flamboiant side to him and when I first heard it was he who was pinned for the part of Sweeney Todd I thought the Movie would be a disaster but I was happy to be wrong, his performance was amazing he nailed it so precisely it is scary to think that he is only acting.
I'd like this Movie to be shown more on T.V. because I think it is an excellent production but I suppose it is the Noir nature of the storyline that holds it back. Still I suppose in the run-up to Hallowe'en it will probably get a look in somewhere.
