Day 24: A Movie That You Think No-one Should See

This post is part of a series of posts in The 30 Day Movie Challenge

Now, I like Tom Hanks - and with that you know there's a 'but' coming and you know there's a Tom Hanks Movie coming.  I like his style of acting, I like his sincerity his likeability and has manner of speech.  I think personally, that Tom Hanks' strength in acting comes from his interactions with other characters.  I think even in a position where he should be hated as the bad guy he is still likeable.  However in this Movie: 'Cast Away' I believe that all of this falls on its face.  I believe for me the greatest let down with this Movie is the fact that the whole point of the Movie revolves around a single character's isolation.  I can only say that I hope during production he realised the Movie would be a pain and boring and that this drove him to a mini-breakdown and thus allowed him to accurately portray the mentality of a person who for all intents and purposes has 'lost it'.

I know my view isn't shared by critics given this Movie's award nominations and reviews and its score on IMDB but I still think that really no-one should see this Movie.
