Eurovision Top 30: Number 16

Artist: Getter Jaani
Song title: Rockefeller Street
Year: 2011
Country: Estonia
Place: 24th

There are lots of directions you can take an act for the Eurovision Song Contest. Some people go for ballads, some people go for the unusual. This entry reminds me of an act from a musical. I think the act in question put more effort into their dance routines and production than they did with the actual song which is why I think they did so badly. If they had stripped back some of the gimmicks I think this could have done much better. I also feel the need to point out to the people who say "she needs to learn how to count" the line "1273 down the Rockefeller Street" is not meant to be counting, it is reference to a fictitious address in New York. Despite being a little over the top I actually like the performance from the night and although I think the pre-recorded version is better I have included the actual performance for the effort that was put in.
