Back to 2013 for another entry from that infamous year that raised a few eyebrows for me and further led to my paranoia about vote rigging. Cascada is an international best selling artist, which is unusual for the contest as many countries send unknown artists or new talent to perform. The UK has sent a number of names who are big in the UK but beyond its borders they haven't fared that well. Cascada on the other hand has been number 1 in 5 countries in Europe and has had 9 top ten singles in Europe, yet her performance on the night did not get very far finishing 21st, just 5 places above Ryan Dolan and 3 above Finland's Gay kiss entry "Marry Me" ending the night on just 18 points overall.
I will admit the performance itself could have been better but the song was a typical entry that would do well in Eurovision and the reason why it didn't is not easy to pin down. I have included a video with the song for you to judge for yourself.
